To give without asking for anything in return

The Beacon

The Beacon is an outreach ministry with a passion for the disadvantaged.  We started 2 years ago by helping the frail, aged and disabled, which flowed onto the disadvantaged.

Although our first priority was the aged and frail, we service equally the disadvantaged, which includes those who have physical and mental disabilities, those with diminished living skills, the abandoned, the homeless, seniors and retirees, those who are isolated and alone, victims of crime, those suffering from domestic and family violence, and especially those who fall through the cracks of our system.

This we achieve through our five (5) services, that overlap each other, so there are no cracks to fall through.

The Beacon will service clients that need help from Golden Years Aged Care Services, THE BEACON, GRABB, ONE80, C.O.O.T.S. as well as persons off the street and referrals from other agencies. This is how we network all our services together with a common goal, give help to those who need it, and create better citizens.

Our mission is to give to the needy without asking anything in return. There is no preaching or judgements, only the hand of friendship given freely. Where we cannot meet certain needs, we refer to other agencies where possible.  For example we network with, Pacific Link Community Housing, Donnison St. Restaurant, The Salvation Army, St. Vincent DePaul, Citygate Church, Tuggerah Lakes Christian Fellowship, The Exodus Foundation and other various churches. One person or organisation cannot do all that is needed, but as a collective group helping each other, we can make a huge difference.

The Beacon is a place where people can be evaluated for their immediate and long term needs. It is be able to address many problems and direct people to where the help is available. We will run many life skill courses as well as pre employment training.
